FAMILY
I have four younger brothers back in Philly.

EDUCATION
I graduated from UT San Antonio in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree and I’m currently pursuing a master’s degree at UT Austin.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO YOUR FIELD?
I’m not sure I even have a field yet. I still consider myself a recent graduate, so I think I need more time to experience and explore different opportunities.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH CORDILLERA RANCH?
I started September 2012.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ASPECT OF WORKING IN THE HILL COUNTRY?
My favorite part is being surrounded by nature, since I grew up in a city. I get overly excited on my drive to the office when I pass fields with goats and cows.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES/INTERESTS?
I spend nearly every spare minute I have reading. I almost listed my book collection under ‘Family.’ I’m also extremely passionate about music and traveling for concerts. I’ve been all over the world to see my favorite bands on tour.

WHAT BAND HAVE YOU FOLLOWED AROUND THE WORLD?
Hanson.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SPORT?
As a Philadelphian, if I don’t say football I will not be permitted back into the city. (Secretly, I’ve also been getting into soccer lately.)

FAVORITE SPORTING EVENT YOU’VE ATTENDED?
I’m going to preemptively say my favorite sporting event will be on December 29, 2013 when I see the Eagles crush the Cowboys in Arlington!

FAVORITE QUOTE?
“Do not fear to be eccentric in opinion, for every opinion now accepted was once eccentric.” – Bertrand Russell

FAVORITE MOVIE AND WHY?
28 Days Later, because nothing beats a good horror movie.

Bees and Golf Courses

A long-standing interest of mine has been the benefits of using honey and bee keeping. I have enjoyed honey since I was a child and there are many benefits of having honey in your diet. Honey contains a variety of nutrients, it’s rich in antioxidants and is better for blood sugar levels than regular sugar. Research has shown it to promote heart health, promote burn and wound healing, and help suppress coughing with children.

Amanda Naranjo

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been around the game of golf. From watching golf tournaments on TV with my family to going out to the driving range with my dad during my High School years while on the Golf Team, everything I associate with golf has been positive. I decided to attend the University of the Incarnate Word and major in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Business. Fusing both my passion for fashion and love for the game of golf, the golf merchandising path was the perfect path for me.
