Associates degree from Temple Junior College, and Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science from Texas State University

HOW DID YOU GET INTO YOUR FIELD?
After graduating from college, I wanted to stay involved in the game of golf in some way. Since my background included a love of sports, teaching, and playing golf at the collegiate level, in 1993 I took advantage of an opportunity to become an Assistant Golf Professional at Wildflower Country Club in Temple, TX, so that I could teach junior golfers and later become a Class A PGA Member.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH CORDILLERA RANCH?
Since May of 2013.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ASPECT OF WORKING IN THE HILL COUNtry?
The natural beauty, it’s scenic views, and peacefulness.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES/INTERESTS?
Yard work, Movies, and music. I want to learn to play the guitar. I have one but need to take lessons!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SPORT?
Football

FAVORITE SPORTING EVENT YOU’VE ATTENDED?
It’s a tie between my first Masters in 2009, and the 2012 Ryder Cup, even though the USA lost. Huge crowds and lots of excitement!

FAVORITE QUOTE?

Rudy. A real-life story that shows you can do anything you believe in if you work hard enough and long enough.

Giving up weekends and holidays, missing time with family and friends.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST REWARDING EXPERIENCE IN YOUR BUSINESS?
Working with Special Olympics, helping those with special needs, and meeting so many people along the way, building relationships with fellow Members, staff, and other golf professionals.

Working at a premier club in a peaceful, relaxed, hill country setting.

Amenity Reservations on the Ranch

Cordillera Ranch offers a variety of amenities for property owners and the new POA website allows online reservations for those amenities. To place a reservation request, simply log into the Cordillera Ranch POA website at www.cordilleraranchpoa.com, use the drop down on the For Residents tab and select Reservations, which lists the multiple amenities available. Property owners will then need to select which amenity they wish to reserve, and fill out the online form. The completed form is sent to the POA to review, at which time the POA will approve or deny the request. Once a decision has been made by the POA, the property owner is notified.

Where Do You Spend Your Time?

I recently read a story retold by the father of a young family of three that included himself, his wife and their young daughter. According to his recounting, after dinner they were each challenged to share an object symbolic of how they would describe one another to a stranger. When it was the daughter’s turn to share the item she thought to be representative of her father, she produced a cell phone. At her young age, she wasn’t taking a sarcastic “shot” at her dad, rather, it was how she truly saw him when he was home.
