Evenings of Art and Wine – Cordillera Ranch Living Magazine

Evenings of Art and Wine

The Fine Art and Wine events at The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch were developed in partnership with Texas Treasures Fine Art to recognize and appreciate art and artists in a relaxed setting while conversing with artists and admiring their works up close. In addition, artwork may be purchased at each event.

At the Clubs’ first event on October 27, “A Night with Thomas Arvid,” America’s preeminent painter of wine discussed his passion for collecting both art and wine and how on each canvas he strives to capture the pleasure of a life well-lived. Art Business News (May, 2003) credits the self-taught artist with “launching a major art trend…” with his oversized still life compositions of wine and the casual rituals surrounding it, using lush colors and skillful application. Guests were entertained with a live painting demonstration while appropriately enjoying food and wine pairings.

At the conclusion of this process in October, we have now seen the extraordinary benefit of the deep vertical slicing (Graden device) coupled with the normal aerification of punching holes and backfilling with sand.

Bees and Golf Courses

A long-standing interest of mine has been the benefits of using honey and bee keeping. I have enjoyed honey since I was a child and there are many benefits of having honey in your diet. Honey contains a variety of nutrients, it’s rich in antioxidants and is better for blood sugar levels than regular sugar. Research has shown it to promote heart health, promote burn and wound healing, and help suppress coughing with children.

I decided to attend the University of the Incarnate Word and major in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Business. Fusing both my passion for fashion and love for the game of golf, the golf merchandising path was the perfect path for me.
