November 11 – Veterans Day

Entry Fee: $50 per person, includes GlowBall equipment, food and prizes

November 16-17 – Texas Towne Matches
Cordillera Ranch will host on November 17.

November 17 – Class Event: Pinot and Pearls
Time: 6:00 to 9:00pm
Ladies, come enjoy a night out while dining and shopping with the world’s largest pearl distributor!  Register with The Club receptionist.

November 19 – MGA Turkey Shoot Scramble
Time: 9:00am Shotgun
Format: 4-Man Scramble
Entry Fee: $50, includes lunch and prizes

November 24 – Thanksgiving Day Golf Hours
The golf course will close at 3:00pm on Thanksgiving Day and all carts must be in at that time.

November 24 – Thanksgiving Feast
Seating is available from 11:00am to 2:00pm
In honor of Thanksgiving, we will be hosting a holiday-themed feast a holiday-themed feast and live music from Bernie Martini. Reservations are required and a 48-hour cancellation policy is in effect. Reserve your seating with The Club receptionist.

November 25 – Turkey Trot and Stuffing Stroll
Time: 9:30 to 9:50am sign-in and warm-up stretch.
10:00am run/walk. Meet in front of the Golf Shop.
Fee: $18, includes post-race brunch and race t-shirt
The “Turkey Trot” is a 5K run through the Golf Village totaling 3.2 miles. For those of you looking for a shorter route, you can take a 1.5 mile “Stuffing Stroll.” All ages are welcome, including pets and strollers! Awards will be given to the fastest male and female runners broken down into two age divisions. Breakfast tacos, fruit and assorted pastries will be available to replenish your body after the run. November 27 – Golf and Trading Shop Christmas Open House
Time: 5:00 to 8:00pm
The popular “Discount Wheel of Fortune” makes its return for one night only. Special discounts ranging from 10 to 40 percent on all merchandise are available by spinning the wheel.
Note: All Golf Shop store credit must be used by December 31.

November 27 – Third Annual Clubhouse Lighting Party 
Time: 5:30 to 7:30 pm

All families are welcome to help us celebrate the lighting of the Christmas Tree and Clubhouse! We will have drink specials and member dining while enjoying entertainment by Bernie Martini for the adults, and the kids will have their own Christmas fun in the Cabana! Register with The Club receptionist.

December 3 – Gingerbread House Decorating
Time: Seating times are 10:00am and 3:00pm
Location: Cabana Grille
Come out to the Cabana Grille for this great holiday family activity! We will provide everything you’ll need: a pre-built house, icing and a variety of candy. All your kids need to bring are their decorating skills, and best of all, we will take care of the mess! Register with Kelsey Grudle at kgrudle@cordilleraranch.com.

December 10 – Breakfast with Santa
Time: Seating times are 9:00 and 11:00am
Picture Fee: $15 for the first photo, $5 for every additional photo; photos will be available at the time of purchase
We’ll have a jolly good time as Santa joins us for breakfast at The Clubhouse! Be sure to dress in your Christmas best to have pictures taken while you tell Santa what is on your wish list. Children’s activities include a reindeer food craft and coloring sheets in the Twin Sister’s Lounge, while adults enjoy entertainment by Peter Gloria! Reserve your seating with The Club receptionist.

December 24-25 – Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Golf Hours 
The golf course and Golf Shop will close at 2:00pm on Christmas Eve and all carts must be in at that time. The golf course and Golf Shop will be closed on Christmas Day.

Amenity Reservations on the Ranch

Cordillera Ranch offers a variety of amenities for property owners and the new POA website allows online reservations for those amenities. To place a reservation request, simply log into the Cordillera Ranch POA website at www.cordilleraranchpoa.com, use the drop down on the For Residents tab and select Reservations, which lists the multiple amenities available. Property owners will then need to select which amenity they wish to reserve, and fill out the online form. The completed form is sent to the POA to review, at which time the POA will approve or deny the request. Once a decision has been made by the POA, the property owner is notified.

Where Do You Spend Your Time?

I recently read a story retold by the father of a young family of three that included himself, his wife and their young daughter. According to his recounting, after dinner they were each challenged to share an object symbolic of how they would describe one another to a stranger. When it was the daughter’s turn to share the item she thought to be representative of her father, she produced a cell phone. At her young age, she wasn’t taking a sarcastic “shot” at her dad, rather, it was how she truly saw him when he was home.
