HOW DID YOU GET INTO YOUR FIELD?
I had an office job out of college and hated it. My passion was always golf. I love everything about the game and how it affects people’s souls.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH CORDILLERA RANCH?
Since the summer of 2006. I have seen the Club built from the ground up and it was amazing. I met my beautiful wife here and it’s the place where my parents chose to retire. As you can see, Cordillera Ranch is where I call home. As far as the last seven years, I definitely have tons of funny stories to tell you!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ASPECT OF WORKING IN THE HILL COUNTRY?
The gentle terrain – the hills are high enough to see the land around you, but gentle enough where you can’t fall too badly.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES/INTERESTS?
Spending time with my wife drinking cognac and wine on our balcony talking about golf and fitness!

FAVORITE SPORTING EVENT YOU’VE ATTENDED?
A senior tour event I attended when I was a kid with my parents. I remember watching Chi-Chi Rodriguez doing his sword celebration and thinking, “These guys are having great fun.”

FAVORITE QUOTE?
“The more you practice, the luckier you are.” – Gary Player.

FAVORITE MOVIE AND WHY?
Saving Private Ryan – everybody must always strive to earn it, which is how Private Ryan lived his life. This movie is a great reminder that nothing is owed to you.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR GREATEST CHALLENGE IN YOUR BUSINESS?
My belief is to stay current with what is going on. The golf business is always evolving and in order to stay up-to-date you have to continually learn. The average handicap has always stayed the same because people continually learn what was taught 20 years ago.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST REWARDING EXPERIENCE IN YOUR BUSINESS?
The business has led me to meet my awesome wife and work with the best people in the business. I have also developed great relationships with the best members in the world! I love how they have always cared for me.

FAVORITE ASPECT OR FEATURE AT CORDILLERA RANCH?
Everything!

Where Do You Spend Your Time?

I recently read a story retold by the father of a young family of three that included himself, his wife and their young daughter. According to his recounting, after dinner they were each challenged to share an object symbolic of how they would describe one another to a stranger. When it was the daughter’s turn to share the item she thought to be representative of her father, she produced a cell phone. At her young age, she wasn’t taking a sarcastic “shot” at her dad, rather, it was how she truly saw him when he was home.
